Competition start for the german men along with Russia
The qualifying competition of the german men begins on October 6th. Part of the team: Andreas Toba, Karim Rida, Nick Klessing and Lukas Dauser. After Marcel Nguyen had to announce his withdrawal from the Championships due to a shoulder injury, Philipp Herder will be the fifth member of the team to represent Germany at the World Championships in Stuttgart.
Also Russia, whose team finished second in the final of the last World Championships, will be competing on October 6th. Team Brazil will be entering the qualifying competition as well. The team from Brazil includes Arthur Zanetti, who is defending World Champion on rings.
The qualifying rounds are not only about entering the finals but also about the qualification for the Olympic Games. Only the best twelve teams of the 2019 World Gymnastics Championships will make it to Tokyo 2020.
Placings of the qualifying competitions:
- Top 12 teams qualify for the Olympic Games
- Top 8 teams qualify for the Team Final
- Top 24 gymnasts on all apparatus qualify for the all-around finals
- Top 8 gymnasts per apparatus qualify for the apparatus finals on floor, pommel horse, still rings, vault, parallel bars and horizontal bar.
